In search for better CCL performance, MLS misses... →
A good article on MLS in CONCACAF Champions League play as well as a response to the newly formed MLS CCL subcommittee. Basically: MLS needs better players and tactics to compete, an expanded roster and more gracious domestic scheduling will not equate into international trophies.

Charlie Davies will not see playing time at... →
Ives is reporting that despite Davies miraculous recovery over the past 6 months he will not see any playing time during the remainder of the Ligue 1 season. Think Davies still has a chance to make the World Cup squad despite this?

Forbes Most Valuable Soccer Clubs →
1. Man U 2. Real Madrid 3. Arsenal 4. Barcelona 5. Bayern Munich No real surprises here. A pretty interesting read about the global brand power of the top clubs and the widening gap between these clubs and smaller clubs. Also sponsor dollars actually ROSE for the ‘08-‘09 season due to the growing global reach of the large clubs.

Check out Grant Wahl's article on Freddy Adu  →
“At 14, Freddy Adu was American soccer’s biggest star. Six years later he’s a journeyman pro and a longshot to make the squad for South Africa. What went wrong, and is there hope for him yet?”

MLS Attendance Moves past NBA, NHL
1. NFL - 67,508.69 (2009 season) 2. MLB - 30,213.37 (2009 season) 3. MLS - 18,452.14 (2010 season, as of 04/11/2010) 4. NBA - 17,110.64 (2009/10 season) 5. NHL - 17,004.53 (2009/10 season) via A promising trend! True NHL is still suffering from the strike and the NBA, well, sucks. We are only 3 weeks into the MLS season. Will this trend go down after the World Cup? Or will it continue to rise?...

Chris Rolfe scores first goal at Aalborg
Ex-Fire player Chris Rolfe had the game winner in Aalborg’s 1-0 win over Odense. Video of the match here (skip to 2:15). I am sad to see Rolfe gone. The Fire could use some production. Think the Fire are better or worse off with Rolf in Denmark?

Bayern Munich 2 - 1 Manchester United Highlight of Ivica Olic’s game winner in the final seconds of injury time. What a great come from behind win for Bayern after giving up an ugly goal in the first 2 minutes of the match. The second leg is going to be tough, especially with a United away goal, but Bayern will be going in with alot of confidence.

Darren O'Dea: McGeady not looking to leave →
I like McGeady alot. If he left Celtic I would be a bit disappointed. It would be especially disappointing if he ended up leaving Celtic to go to some low level EPL club. With Keane leaving I really hope Aiden stays.

Fire ready to unload Busch →
Ives is reporting that the Fire will trade or waive goalkeeper Jon Busch. I am a bit shocked since Busch has been one of the most solid goalkeepers in the league the past two years. Hopefully the Fire have something up their sleeve …

Aston Villa 2 - 2 Wolves A disappointing result for sure. Villa had their share of chances, but just could not put away a stubborn (and somewhat lucky) Wolverhapton team. The highlight is of Carew’s equalizer.

Fulham 4 - 1 Juventus Clint Dempsey’s amazing chip sends Fulham to the Europa League quarter finals. Dempsey came on as a sub with 20 minutes to go and Fulham needing a goal to break the 4-4 aggregate score. I’m liking Deuce’s fire recently. I got a feeling we will see some good things from him in June!
